Bell cloches protect and encourage growth of seedlings and semi-hardy plants. Based on a Victorian design, uses include wintering herbaceous border plants and less hardy perennials, growing winter lettuces, encouraging early crops of fruit, vegetables and salads and establishing kitchen herb gardens.
